Chaminade’s Science Program offers courses of all levels, from locally developed to AP-enriched.  They provide students with a thorough background in the natural sciences while delivering enriched opportunities to students gifted in mathematics and science, as reflected in the school’s STEAM program.

STEAM is an interdisciplinary approach to learning where rigorous academic concepts are coupled with real world lessons as students apply science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics in contexts that make connections between school, community, work, and global enterprise.

At the junior level, students are introduced to a variety of scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, and physics.  As seniors, they are encouraged to pursue a discipline(s) independently thus facilitating the development of a strong foundation for future studies at the post-secondary level.

Our mission is to present students with the opportunity to discover the natural world and to understand the laws governing its order.

We encourage our students to use critical thinking skills to understand scientific concepts in order to become effective problem-solvers and active citizens who comprehend the issues that impact our society and the global environment.
